Welcome

Thanks for visiting us at our website. We hope that it gives you an understanding of what is happening in our school and what is important to us.

We believe that a child's education should be fun, meaningful and challenging. Students experiences should relate to the world outside of school and equip them for the world beyond their school years.

Our job is to work with the parents of our students to make each child the best they can be.

Please don't hesistate to come visit us or contact us to find out more!

Paul Bissinella, Acting Principal

The Principles of Restorative Practices in school:

  • Focuses on fixing up what has gone wrong
  • Looks at the needs of the person who has harmed and the person who has been harmed
  • Uses a process that allows all people involved to say how they feel
  • Gives children a say in what needs to be done as a follow up

A typical restorative session would ask the following questions:

What happened?

Who is involved?

What harm has been done?

How do you feel about this?

How can we make it right?

As teachers and adults involved in the lives of students, we need to be role models of this approach in everything we do. Our body language, facial expressions, tone of voice will all send clear messages to our students as to how much we believe in this approach and want to help and support them with seeking ways they can put things right.

We acknowledge and pay respect to the Dja Dja Wurrung people as the original custodians of the land we meet on.

We commit ourselves to actively work alongside Aboriginals for reconciliation and justice.

At St. Peter’s we have a proud and strong recognition that this country is shaped by the management decisions and practice of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people over millennia and celebrate the continuity of this role and the significant contributions made in looking after country and conserving Australia's biodiversity. We proudly highlight and recognise the role they have played in shaping our identity and pause to reflect on their sacrifice. We celebrate and honour their priceless contribution to our nation.
